“Go my people, enter your chambers and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by” – Isaiah 26:20
In this unprecedented situation, it is my responsibility to urge all the church members to follow the government guidelines and to stay-at-home. Please continue to heed the instructions from the public health experts to take care of your family and others at this time so that we all can help to slow down the spread of corona virus.
Let us grow in faith by reading scripture. Pray for the entire nation, especially for those who are ill, those who are working to take care of the sick and those who are working to develop vaccine for COVID-19.
It is evident from the Bible when David built an altar and pleaded to the Lord, the plague was swayed away from the land(2 Samuel 24:25).Let us also plead with Isaiah’s prayer “Lord, be gracious to us;we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress” (Isaiah 33:2).Also strengthen yourselves with the promise of the Lord in Hosea 13:14 – “I will deliver this people from the power of the grave ;I will redeem them from death.Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave, is your destruction?… ”
Let us trust in the providence of the Almighty to protect us all through this time, and not give into fear.
